Angel Fire is preparing for another busy Winter Season

With the beautiful fall coming to an end in the Moreno Valley, we are in preparation for another busy winter season. We have two new restaurants opening up here in town. Britt's Steakhouse at the Cove Art Center and Hatcha's Grill of Angel Fire in Pinewood Plaza. We are very excited to be welcoming these new restaurants to Angel Fire.

After a talk with Tom and Bonnie Bowles of the Roasted Clove, it is my understanding that the Upstairs Bistro will be opening again right before ski season and will offer light dining, a great wine and beer list from 4 pm daily during the winter season. They may be closed on Tuesdays, but that has not been decided for sure. Also the Sunset Grill will be serving breakfast daily along with lunch and dinner this coming season. If you have not tried the breakfast at Sunset, you simply must! The portions are plentiful and food is great!

It has already started to snow at 9000 feet and will soon hit the valley floor. We applaud our new businesses and ask that they and all of you do not forget to bring over your brochures and menus for our guests at the Visitor Center, 3365 Mountain View Blvd. at Frontier Plaza. We want all visitors to have information which will help make their stay more enjoyable.

Building the future in Angel Fire

With winter almost done, people are ready to begin the building season again. projects that have been "on hold" throughout the long winter will come to life again in the next few months, and many will be completed before the end of the year. Real estate in the area has been good since the first of the year and continues to improve.

The Angel Fire PID (Public Improvement District) is slated be begin again in April. Work will continue throughout the summer on the roads and utilities for this project.

The Angel Fire Resort Country Club is scheduled to be completed the first of May. Property owners are anxiously awaiting this date to see the new facilities at the Angel Fire Resort Golf Course.

With all of the fantastic snow this year, gross receipts and lodgers' taxes for the Village of Angel Fire appear to be headed in an upward direction which will provide us with more for delayed (and new) projects, due to the slow economy last Fall.

In the Spring, North Angel Fire Road will receive a complete upgrade. Although this may impede traffic a bit, it will be a great improvement, once completed.

Plans are moving ahead for the National Veterans Wellness & Healing Center in Angel Fire. More on this project in the coming months.

Looking Toward the New Year

With 2009 coming to an end, sights are now set on 2010 and things are being put into motion for many new and exciting ventures in Angel Fire.

There are commercial buildings under constrution that will be completed early in 2010 and will be open for the summer season. One of these is the new Angel Fire Resort Country Club, slated for opening in May with the start of the 2010 golf season. This important project will culminate in the premier year-round golf clubhouse in the Southwest featuring first-class facilities in dining, retail, pool and spa and fitness.

However, this is only one of the projects slated for completion in 2010. Watch this blog for updates on other projects.

In other news, the Moreno Valley Charter High School is getting the first permanent structure at the school site and the building is starting to take shape and become a landmark in the community.

The PID project that will bring road improvements and utilities to many residential lots in the community has shut down for the winter months, but plans are already in place to be back on the job as soon as possible in the spring, with project completion in the fall of 2010.

These are just a few of the projects slated for 2010. Watch for more updates and other projects on our website and blog.
